Ebrima Darboe is here to stay.
Despite drawing significant interest from numerous European clubs including Anderlecht who advanced a bid for the player a few weeks ago, the youngster is considered essential in Roma’s plans going forward and the club are thinking of renewing his contract.
According to Il Tempo, Mourinho has taken a liking to Darboe and wants the management to include him long term. Thus, after surprising everyone with his debut in the Europa League against Manchester United and imposing himself as a regular starter in Fonseca’s last few matches at the Olimpico, the 20-year-old midfielder is looking to renew his contract with Roma for four more years.
GM Tiago Pinto will soon meet with the player’s agents to discuss the extension. The new 4-year contract will include a salary of €500,000 that is bound to steadily increase over the years.
