David Silva spurns Lazio, the father of the Spaniard: “The deal wasn’t done”.

It’s been a difficult 12 hours inside the home of Roma’s rivals Lazio.

The Biancocelesti learned late yesterday that David Silva, who they had been engaged in negotiations with for weeks, had joined Real Sociedad despite having a medical already planned for the former Manchester City man.

In response, Lazio director Igli Tare took to the club’s website and proclaimed, “I have respect for David Silva the player but not the man”.

The player’s father, David Jiménez, responded to Lazio when speaking to Radio Marca Donostia and hit back at the Simone Inzaghi‘a side.

“When Lazio were told about the deal with Real Sociedad, they didn’t react badly — in the end, nothing was certain. There were contacts with Lazio, but also with Real Sociedad and other teams, then my son made the decision to go to Sociedad,” he said.

“There was nothing closed, David was surprised by the reaction of the club. Everyone can decide what they want, Lazio talked to his agent, not David. So I don’t understand why they bring him up as a man, he didn’t have anything done with Lazio”.
