Atalanta full-back Davide Zappacosta recently talked about his brief experience in the Italian capital.
The player – who at the time was signed on loan from Chelsea at the start of the 19/20 season – did not feature much for the Giallorossi. A month into his new adventure, the player ruptured his ACL and was sidelined for the majority of the campaign.
Despite this unlucky episode, Zappacosta spoke quite fondly of the capital club in a recent appearance on Twitch with FIFA Pro player Nicolò Mirra.
“Bergamo is a second home to me. They’re a family that welcomed me with open arms, but I have wonderful memories from my time at Roma,” said Zappacosta.
“It was an experience that taught me a lot and helped me grow. Rome is a city I adore and despite suffering quite a serious injury then, and having to recover for a long period of time, I was still able to bond deeply with some of my teammates.”
Davide Zappacosta only made 9 appearances for the Giallorossi and eventually returned to Chelsea the following summer.
