Former Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi is preparing to begin his “second act” in football after hanging up his playing boots in 2020.
The 38 year-old hasn’t hid his managerial aspirations, which is why he accepted a role with the Italian national team in order to learn under Roberto Mancini.
After two years with the Azzurri, De Rossi is ready to commence life as a club manager and has attracted interest from several clubs in Serie A and Serie B.
According to Alfredo Pedulla of SportItalia, the Roman is among the candidates being considered by Cagliari for their vacant managerial post. Former Roma caretaker Aurelio Andreazzoli and Pippi Inzaghi are also in the running the role.
