Daniele De Rossi makes his coaching debut for Roma with a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona.

The newly appointed interim manager analyzed the Giallorossi’s performance in his post-match interview with DAZN.

“It’s a good result for us,” De Rossi told DAZN at full-time.

”When I came here as a fan there was always a lot of affection, the fans have always been great to me. But now I have a different role and you live it differently.”

“There was great emotion but on the other side also great tension. I tried to reconcile the two and thank the people at the end of the game because they called my name during the game. I couldn’t be happier with my debut.”

“I really liked the first half. I want to watch the game again. If you do the same thing in the first half but do it slowly, it becomes hard, because it becomes predictable.”

“Dybala? He seems okay, nothing serious. He just doesn’t feel good enough to push himself too much on the pitch. Spinazzola may have injured himself but it is also not serious.”

“I think it’s important to dominate and master controlling the ball. The images make us understand that if we play with one touch and quickly, it makes sense, but if we don’t, then we risk of falling asleep. The teams are well coached, if you control the ball possession slowly, others will kill you. If you do it with speed, I think we will have fun with the players we have.”

“Pellegrini? He is one of the strongest players we have in Italy. He must find consistency in his performances. He has to control the ball more frequently, and enter the penalty area, because he has always scored a lot of goals.”

“He has the same role as me, the captain. When things are not going well here in Rome, it is right that we Romans are made to face our responsibilities. We have many honors but also burdens. He knows it. He’s matured a great deal since the last time I saw him. He worked as a true leader during the week. In the first half I liked him a lot, in the second half he dropped in quality like everyone else.”
