De Rossi changes course: nearing Boca Juniors move

In a stunning twist, it appears as if the footballing career of Daniele De Rossi will continue. Sky Sport reports that the former Roma captain is close to accepting an offer from Boca Juniors. The news arrives just a week after it appeared De Rossi would retire from football as a player to pursue a managerial career. However, ex-Roma defender and the current sporting director of the Argentine side, Nico Burdisso, has swayed the mind of his former teammate to continue his career as a player. Contact between the parties has been continuous and it’s possible that De Rossi could be a new player of Boca Juniors by the weekend. An agreement is in place for an eight-month contract worth €500,000.
