De Rossi instills confidence in Spinazzola ahead of EURO 2024

Andy Mattioli

Daniele De Rossi has been closely working with Leonardo Spinazzola to get the best out of the 30-year-old fullback as the season winds to an end.

Upon his arrival in the Italian capital, De Rossi was immediately called to address Spinazzola’s declining form: the player had reportedly lost confidence in himself and was plagued by injuries which threatened his inclusion in Italy’s squad list for EURO 2024.

Moreover, Spinazzola’s unresolved contractual situation had contributed to the player’s feeling of malaise.

According to Il Messaggero, De Rossi immediately got to work with Spinazzola and made him a regular starter in all of Roma’s Europa League matches, having him play well over 100 minutes in the return leg with Feyenoord.

Spinazzola is said to be delighted with the opportunity to work with De Rossi and is now being directly monitored by Luciano Spalletti and his staff ahead of the EURO.
