Daniele De Rossi made his return to Roma for the first time since 2019.
This time, the legendary captain will represent his boyhood club from the sidelines as Roma’s new manager until the end of the season.
On Tuesday, De Rossi held his first training session after meeting with the owners and the team.
During the first meeting with his new players, De Rossi made a brief speech, urging the Giallorossi to be united in their pursuit of the pre-established objectives for the season.
“We must give everything for this shirt, for these fans, for this club. But we must give everything for ourselves too,” De Rossi is cited saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It must be a fiery five months in which you give everything for our cause and the goals we want to achieve. I ask you for maximum collaboration and to grit your teeth even in the most complicated moments.”
