Roma attacker Sardar Azmoun is set to continue his stay in the Italian capital despite links with other clubs in the January window.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, after having received numerous offers including from Sevilla in recent days – the Spanish side insisted on forcing Bayer Leverkusen into interrupting his loan stint at Roma – the Iran international will remain in Italy.

Roma have no intention to break his loan with Bayer Leverkusen – this was a specific request made by newly appointed head coach Daniele De Rossi who wants to keep Azmoun in his squad for the remainder of the season.

As a result, Andrea Belotti’s position at Roma is compromised and the ex-Torino striker could leave the Giallorossi in case of a good offer or as part of a swap deal.
