Daniele De Rossi once again proved a pivotal presence for Roma in their transfer strategy.

The capital club are in fact ready to welcome Mats Hummels among their ranks.

The German free agent has agreed to a deal with the capital club and is scheduled to arrive in the Italian capital this afternoon to undergo his medical.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that yesterday the agreement was reached, despite the inclusion of Galatasaray in the race.

Hummels chose the Giallorossi, with whom he will join for one year with the option for a second at 2.5 million euros plus bonuses.

The player will be in Rome today for medical visits and signing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that De Rossi’s intervention on the phone was decisive: the Italian manager convinced the player to accept Roma’s proposal.
