Daniele De Rossi was unveiled today by Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici as a new player of the Argentine side. These are his words:
Why did you say yes to Boca?
Once the news of my departure at Roma was official, we started to speak and Nico was determined to bring me here. I immediately said yes but then I needed to think about it. Changing so much was a bit scary – but I also said yes because I had the desire to play football in a motivating environment. Burdisso was also a guarantee for me: he told me the president is an honest man and that thing here are done in order to win. He wouldn’t bring me to a place where he knows I wouldn’t feel good.
Is there a specific date for your debut?
I haven’t stopped training. I’ll need a few days to get up to speed but the manager has the job to decide all this.
They same as Boca’s: win the Libertadores and everything possible. I’m here to help – I hope things go well on Wednesday. The team is focused and this is the competition where I’d like to debut.
Would you tell a European player to come here?
I don’t have to call my mates to tell him to come here: but I think every player should get to experience what I have in the past few days. If you enjoy playing football, you shouldn’t do so without experiencing this.
