One Roma’s most desired transfer targets in recent years had been former Primavera midfielder Davide Frattesi.

Frattesi had been linked with Roma for many years leading up to his controversial last minute decision to join Inter instead.

His time with the Nerazzurri proved more difficult than anticipated – Frattesi struggled for minutes, playing only 1300 minutes this season under Simone Inzaghi.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Frattesi would be willing to explore options on the market this summer if faced with a long-term prospect of more limited minutes in Milan.

Furthermore, the newspaper adds that Daniele De Rossi would like to bring him back to Roma.

The legendary captain crossed paths with the young midfielder years ago when Frattesi was still a member of Roma’s Primavera squad.

The two had shared a positive relationship despite the age gap. In an interview, Frattesi had paid tribute to De Rossi, “He was one of the very few who, when you made mistakes, didn’t massacre you: he always had a word of comfort even for young players. Whoever you talk to, he will tell you that Daniele is Daniele.”
