Roma have secured their first reinforcement of the winter transfer window.
According to Sky Sport, the Giallorossi have struck a deal with Arsenal to acquire versatile midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan.
The capital club will pay a €500,000 loan fee plus an additional €500,000 in potential bonuses. No option to buy clause has been inserted into the deal, however, the clubs could discuss a permanent transfer in the near future. The Giallorossi will also pay the Englishman’s full wages for the remainder of the season.
The negotiation will be finalised within the next few hours. Meanwhile, Maitland-Niles will undergo his medical examinations with Roma tomorrow in London before flying to Italy.
