Dean Huijsen discusses decision to join Roma

Roma’s new signing, Dean Huijsen, gave his first interview since officially joining the club on Saturday.

The Dutch defender arrives at Roma on a dry loan from Juventus.

While speaking to Roma TV, Huijsen said, “I’m very happy, the fans immediately welcomed me which was nice.”

“What convinced me right away was the opportunity to join this great club, with great players and coaches. I hope to go all the way in the Europa League this year. Then if Mourinho calls you I think the choice becomes much easier.”

“I have already spoken with Mourinho and I immediately got on well. The players are all strong, by playing with them in training I will learn a lot. I hope to grow a lot and do the best I can for the team.”

“Pellegrini? He joked with me, saying that I brought rain from Turin to Rome. Other than that, he asked me if I was ready and I said I am.”

“I hope to play as much as possible and win some trophies here,” he added.
