Dean Huijsen ready for first Roma start in Derby della Capitale

Roma’s latest signing, Dean Huijsen, is reportedly eying to make his first start for the Giallorossi in the upcoming Derby della Capitale.

As Mourinho and his men prepare for the highly anticipated Coppa Italia clash, Roma will have to consider Diego Llorente’s potential absence due to injury: the Spaniard was forced to come off at half-time versus Atalanta and is highly questionable for Wednesday night.

As a result, Huijsen is the only other centre-back available besides Gianluca Mancini.

According to Il Messaggero, Huijsen has a serious chance to make his first appearance from the start after an impressive display with Atalanta.

The 18-year-old is predicted to start in a three-man defense alongside Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante (who will fill in as an additional centre-back, thus leaving his position in the midfield).

The newspaper suggest Mourinho will still make his evaluations in today’s training session, but Huijsen is reportedly ready for his first senior start.
