Defrel: “It didn’t go well in Rome”.

Gregoire Defrel is enjoying a Renaisannce at Sampdoria this season after joining the Genoa-side on loan this summer from Roma. The attacker was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport and discussed his turnaround:

In Genoa, there were those who doubted that you could do better than Zapata.
I immediately heard a lot about him. He’s a strong attacker compared to others, but this happened to me at Sassuolo when Zaza left. However, I do not notice the comparisons: upon my arrival, the thing I thought about most was returning to my highest physically level. This time, though, I also had something a bit more.

Which was?
Last year, in Rome, it didn’t go well. I read bad things about myself, as often happens in football. I’m usually shy and calm, but this time I thought: I’ll show you who I am, it was the extra push I needed.
