Former Palermo manager Delio Rossi, who worked with Javier Pastore at the Sicilian side, was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport and commented about his ex-player:
“Javier is a good boy, he’s simple, organised, and one who is in love with football, he always wanted to get the ball between his feet then carry it forward behind the attackers. I believe he’s got the physical capabilities to do well as a mezz’ala. Of course, he needs to be coddled a bit and requires time, he needs to feel that he’s important otherwise he tends to overdo it in order to look for importance. Rome, though, isn’t an easy city.”
