A disappointing defeat for the Giallorossi results in a key win for Atalanta who find themselves sitting at the top of Serie A’s standings. Bergamaschi defender Demiral praised his side’s effort in a packed Stadio Olimpico in a post-match interview with DAZN.
“I’m very happy for this result,” said the Turkish centre-back. “We played an excellent game. We took home the three points. It’s a huge win for us,” he added.
“It’s very difficult to play in front of 70,000 fans at the Olimpico,” Demiral said, referring to a sold out stadium. “I think that makes our win even more impressive tonight.”
“I think as always we can compete for anything we wish until the very end,” he concluded.
