After being heavily linked with the Giallorossi throughout the previous six months, Memphis Depay has arrived in Madrid to undergo his medicals and complete his transfer to Atletico Madrid.
The former Manchester United and Lyon attacker is joining Diego Simeone’s side on a permanent deal after they agreed to pay Barcelona a fee of €3-€4 million. Depay will sign a contract that runs until June 2025, officially ending his tumultuous tenure with the Blaugrana.
Roma were rumored to be interested in reuniting Depay and manager Jose Mourinho but a deal never came to fruition—primarily due to player’s wage demands.
