RomaPress.us: A report emerged today from the BBC in England that Roma sporting director Ramon Monchi is among the names Arsenal would like to replace outgoing Head of Recruitment, Sven Mislintat, who will officially leave the Gunners on 8 February the club announced.
Monchi, who joined Roma officially in March 2017, has a contract with the Giallorossi that is valid until 2021 —- however, there is a buyout clause present in the Spaniard’s contract. The former Sevilla sporting director has been linked in recent months to various clubs including Manchester United and Barcelona, however, he has consistently shot down those links in various interviews, citing that “I gave my word to Roma”.
RomaPress contacted today one director at Roma, who immediately rejected the notion of Monchi leaving. In addition, a member of the Spaniard’s entourage laughed off the idea of Monchi leaving the Italian capital after having just arrived, citing that he has finally settled into the club and culture of Rome after having needed an adjustment period. It is worth noting, though, that there is a buyout clause present in Monchi’s contract.
