Despite meetings, Diawara unlikely to join Torino

Amadou Diawara

RomaPress – The future of Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara likely won’t be decided until the final days of the January transfer market.

The Guinean international has long been tipped to leave Roma this month given his lack of playing time this season. But after weeks of discussions, Valencia remains the only concrete option for the midfielder.

The La Liga side have already presented an offer to Diawara’s representatives, Daniele Piraino and Gennaro Piccolillo. However, they can only finalise a deal after they offload Daniel Wass.

In the meantime, Roma general manager Tiago Pinto is also working to find a club for Diawara. The Portuguese executive flew to Milano early this afternoon and on his agenda was a meeting with Torino.

The Granata are interested in acquiring the former Bologna man to reinforce Ivan Juric’s midfield. But despite their interest, Diawara is unlikely to join Toro.

In fact, two members of Diawara’s entourage expressed pessimism to RomaPress when asked about the feasibility of the midfielder joining Torino.
