Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka won’t be leaving the London side before the close of the January transfer market.
The Swiss international was heavily linked with a move to Roma throughout the previous six months. He was close to joining the Giallorossi in the summer following the arrival of José Mourinho.
Even though the deal fell through, Xhaka’s name reemerged as a potential candidate to join Roma in January. Despite the arrivals of Sergio Oliveira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Mourinho is pushing the club to acquire a physical, defensively-minded midfielder before the market closes on Monday.
However, Sky Sport reports that the midfielder will remain with Arsenal at least until the summer.
