Despite rumors, Roma want to keep Zaniolo

Tiago Pinto’s words during his press conference earlier this week – where the Portuguese GM said he nor anyone else for that matter could not guarantee Zaniolo’s future at the capital club – gave life to several transfer rumors linking the 22-year-old Roma attacker with a move away from Rome.

However, Il Tempo reports that for now no assumptions can be made regarding the youngster’s future. The club and Zaniolo’s entourage plan on conducting meetings regarding the renewal of his contract.

Moreover, the newspaper claims that the Friedkin ownership have prioritized Zaniolo’s stay in the capital, as well as Lorenzo Pellegrini’s, and consider him pivotal for the club’s long-term project. As of right now, the youngster’s future at Roma is not in jeopardy.
