Cagliari have announced the appointment of former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco as their new manager.
The Sardinian side announced late this morning that, “Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce that it has entrusted the guidance of the first team to Eusebio Di Francesco: the manager has reached an agreement that binds him to the Rossoblù until 30 June 2022. Welcome to Sardinia, Mister”!
Di Francesco joins Cagliari after having been out of a job since October, when he was sacked by Sampdoria by a terrible string of results to begin the season.
The 50 year-old replaces Walter Zenga, who took over for Rolando Maran just before the COVID-19 outbreak halted the season.
