Eusebio Di Francesco lamented his team’s wasted opportunities after Frosinone were defeated 2-0 by his former side Roma.
Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Pellegrini fired the Giallorossi to victory and handed the Giallazzurri their second defeat of the season.
“We created the conditions to take the lead but we failed to make the most of them,” began Di Francesco during his post-match interview on DAZN.
“In the second half, we completely stopped dribbling down the middle of the pitch but the lads still worked really well. There’s not much to discuss when you create chances but don’t do anything with them.”
He continued, “Let’s not forget where this team is coming from and the path we’re on. I’m proud of the lads for the chances they created and adapting well after Romagnoli’s injury.”
“What’s it like managing a younger team? I’m satisfied with their approach and I tell them to have fun and play the game during every training session. This is exactly what they bring to the pitch and I try to reiterate this as often as possible.”
“Our tactical approach fell apart tonight but we still did our best to try and cause problems for the opponent. Let’s appreciate this performance and applaud the opponent for their victory.”
