Di Francesco speaks ahead of Benevento-Roma

John Solano

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today ahead of his team’s match against Benevento. Here are his words:

Did the match against Verona confirm the variety of the roster?
Certainly it was a match in which we saw a bit of that on the pitch and what we have done in training. We’ve had some difficulty doing some things against opponents but I’ve seen some interesting things.

Will Gonalons be a starter? How is your daily work going?
I wanted Gonalons to play against Sampdoria. Then I chose other solutions (against Verona), I think his time has come, he will almost surely be on the pitch from the first minute. He has come from a different league, but he will give us a great hand and will be the player that we saw in Lyon.

How are Schick and Nainggolan?
Radja almost certainly will not take part in this match, he will probably stay here in Rome so he can recover for Saturday. I think he will return for Udinesd. Schick had to do a recovery training session on Sunday. This little annoyance he is having will be evaluated, I hope that he can train soon so I can have him available. When he played those 20 minutes he was not brilliant.

Will Florenzi play his second in a row or will you be careful?
Were you wanting me to say the formation (laughs)? It might be a danger to play him right away and it would be a big risk to play him from the start.

Can Dzeko play every match or could we see Defrel play centrally?
It’s an option, in this match, though, no. He has found confidence with his goals, and he will start. It’s a good moment (for him).
