Di Francesco speaks ahead of Genoa clash

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Genoa. These are his words:

A concern is that the Liverpool match could distract the team. How do you think the lads are?
We have to think about Genoa because it’s a very complicated match. Since he arrived, Ballardini’s side have conceded very few goals. We can not think about anything else, certainly I will change things a little bit but this does not mean I underestimate them.

Ünder and El Shaarawy could start?
They could be there, El Shaarawy trained with much more continuity than Ünder, who just came back from injury. The Italian is better prepared to play 90 minutes.

Only Juventus has managed to compete on three fronts in this year.
That’s for many reasons, including their mentality and roster. Now we have to better interpret the situation and understand that every match is important. The guys are ready and at my disposal.

In the last three matches, Rome have two points. Is concentration an issue?
All matches have a story of their own. In these three matches, we created a lot and achieved little. With Barcelona, we had to score three and we did it. We must treat all matches in the same way. We’ve lacked luck at certain points.

Roma have played their best matches against the big sides, while they struggle with the smaller ones. Does the three man defence increase that problem?
It could, it’s a fair observation. We have the ability to play 3 or 4 at the back. It’s a tactical thing we can discuss, it could take a while. We have to unlock these types of matches so I hope we solve the problem.
