Di Francesco speaks ahead of Genoa

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today ahead of the clash against Genoa. Here is an excerpt of his words:

”Lack of intensity? I have to say that in the last match against Atletico, especially the last 20-25 minutes, they wanted the victory at all costs and we, in my opinion, we got stretched out. We were less compact, less like a team and less determined in applying pressure like we did in the first half. It’s not only about intensity but also determination, the desire to bring home a positive result. This is a bit of the negative part in the match in Madrid.”

Schick? He will definitely be called. The last two days he has trained with the team and with continuity and without any flare ups to his injury, and I believe this is the most important aspect. If you ask me how much time he may get, I can not say anything, he will certainly not start but he will be available and we are all happy about that.”

”We rely too heavily on the left wing? Going back to Schick, he is a player who could be used in that role but on the right. It’s true I’ve used many in that role on the right but now we have El Shaarawy playing on the right and Perotti on the left, we have added something more in continuity but also quantity and quality. We’re continuing to work on the right and looking for options.”

“The Stadio della Roma? I think it’s all going to end well and we’re happy about it. I am convinced that it will be a great added value. I hope as soon as possible that this project passes, it would be a success for Roma and its fans.”

”Emerson? I do not think he is still in the best condition to start, but he is growing fast.”
