Di Francesco speaks ahead of Sevilla friendly

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today at a press conferenc ahead of the Giallorossi’s friendly tomorrow against Sevilla. Here are his words:

At what point is the team at in terms of preparation?
We are growing a lot, tomorrow’s match is important to test our condition, as is the match against Vigo. We will approach these matches as if they were a league match. We have worked so hard, but these are chances to see where we’re at. I’m happy with the guys’ work.

What do you need to improve?
From the tactical aspect. We have grown so much, but I’m not content. Certain situations must be replicated. These matches show us the good and bad things. There is still so much to do but I’m calm. There seems to be more continuity in the offensive phase, the quality and condition of the players is rising and we should be able to express the quality of our offensive football better than the previous matches.

An opinion on Sevilla?
I watched them last season but now they play different than with Sampaoli. Sevilla have tradition and the quality to be an important team. Muriel joined them, who I know well. He adds speed and technique, especially going forward.

Have the former Sevilla players talked about the late Antonio Puerta?
I have spoken a lot to Monchi about him. For us, it is an honor to participate in this tournament in his memory. It’s a pleasure working with Monchi, because we’re in a great club. I can learn so much from him, there is a good feeling together, which is the most important aspect of work.
