Di Francesco speaks ahead of SPAL

John Solano

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco held his pre-match press conference today ahead of tomorrow’s fixture against SPAL. These are his words:

What are the difficulties of tomorrow?
It’s a very organized team, they give very little to opponents, we must be good at capitalising on opportunities given to us. We will play with some fire, I hope we better face this match, which is very delicate from all points of view.

He is more than ready, I have to evaluate whether to start him from the beginning or not. He will be called. Kolarov will not be called, he had some muscular discomfort.

Dzeko will play tomorrow?
I see he’s been very motivated, this choice will be evaluated tonight and tomorrow. There’s a chance either him or Schick will play. I will evaluate what to do, it is not easy to play lots of matches in a row.

The queues for the tickets against Liverpool?
You see that we have done something extraordinary and beautiful, but we must not stop here. Today my head is on SPAL, it must be great motivation for all of us.

Juan Jesus and Ünder?
We must analyse everyone’s workload, Juan Jesus has played in the in all of the recent races. Even though he’s playig more than before, we must be careful and not risk injury. We must be careful with both he and Cengizz

Is Silva ready to play?
He is ahead of Luca Pellegrini, he will play on the left.

Is substituting Ünder so often a part of his growth?
Yes, the way I ask my wingers to play is taxing. It is rare for my wingers to play all 90 minutes. Perhaps Perotti supports them. Cengiz continues to make strides, he must be protected and managed.

Will there be rest for Fazio?
It’s not like I can give rest to all. Federico is one in top condition and has the ability to make it 90 minutes. His role is less taxing from a physical point of view.

Lorenzo Pellegrini will start?
Some will play, others will rest. I am undecided between him and another, Pellegrini can play from the start.
