Di Francesco: “The only thing missing was a goal.”

Eusebio Di Francesco to SportMediaset after Chievo 0-0 Roma:

“It was just what I wanted from the team because we had 70% of possession and nearly 30 shots, the only thing missing was a goal. Evaluations are made only based on the result but under my point of view, there was no match by Chievo. Yes they had some dead balls and counters, which we allowed. However, the goal did not arrived, we wasted so many chances and we did not have the ruthlessness needed in front of goal but I was expecting this kind of match, the numbers say Roma dominated.”

“In the first half, we had excellent chances with Gerson and Kolarov. I knew that would be the match. We deserved a goal but it’s our own fault. Schick? He can play in both roles in attack but he has different characteristics compared to a classic winger. Nonetheless, we have to gain points and try to get closer to those in front of us.”
