Diawara after Bologna win: “This was an important victory.”

Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara applauded his side for their league victory this evening against Bologna.

The midfielder was among the top performers for the capital club as they defeated the Rossoblù by a scoreline of 1-0.

Following the victory, all of the attention shifts to Roma’s challenge on Thursday in the Europa League against Ajax.

”Today was an important victory against a difficult team,” said the Guinean to Roma TV.

“Bologna play well, but we grabbed all three points so I’m happy. As for Thursday, we’re facing a very strong Ajax team. We’ll enter the match with the mindset that it’s 0-0, we have to forget the first leg.”

Adding, “Certainly we must improve on the things we got wrong last Thursday. Should we do that, I think we’ll have a good chance at progression.”
