Diawara confirms team ambition to compete for Conference League trophy

Amadou Diawara made an appearance of the bench in last night’s winning encounter with Zorya Luhansk in the Ukraine. The midfielder spoke to the club’s official channels following the game.

“We are all working well in training. We are trying to put the coach in difficulty when making his selections, we are trying to grow as a team.”

On what this competition means to Roma:

“This competition is very important to us, it gives us a lot of confidence. We want to go all the way in this competition.”

On whether the team is focused while playing so many games in such a short span of time:

“We are very focused. The coach considers everyone and we are working hard to find the space that we all deserve.”

On what it meant to go back to winning ways after the derby loss:

“It was very important given the last game, the lost derby. Now we have our minds set on Sunday, we need to get the three points before the international break.”
