Diawara following Fiorentina win: “We want to continue like this. It was an important victory”.

Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara was interviewed by Roma TV following the Giallorossi’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina. Here’s what the former Bologna man had to say following the tie:

It was an important victory — one that should also help morale.
It was certainly an important game and so were the points, we are doing well and we want to continue like this until the end of the season.

It was a match that seemed tough from a physical point of view.
Fiorentina is a strong team and we knew it was not an easy match, but we prepared for it well. We tried to do everything on the pitch that the manager asks of us.

Your physical condition seems to be improving, too.
Yes, we are feeling better physically because we’ve been playing so many games. It was difficult right after the lockdown, but now we are doing well.

Does the midfield have more options available when they get the ball in this new formation?
Yes, the new system helps us a lot. As soon as we get the ball we have many options, especially ones going forward. This new formation has lent us a big hand.
