Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara spoke to Roma TV today after having completed his move to the Giallorossi yesterday. These are his words:
“I’m fortunate to be a Roma player. I gave up a bit of vacation to come back quickly. I was looking forward to getting to know the manager and my new teammates, so I wanted to arrive earlier than expected. I spoke to the new manager by phone before arriving, I can’t wait to work with him. It’s an honor to be at his disposal. I played against god Shakhtar side two years ago: they were very strong and I hope he can do the same here in Rome. My idol is Yaya Toure, I am very inspired by him but he’s not easy to replicate because he’s so strong. I’m young and have to work harder to get near his level. The Olimpico? My first time there was with Bologna and I got very excited. It’s an important venue and you can feel the positive effect the supporters have. It really motivates you. I promise the supporters that I will give 100% in every training session and match”.
