Diawara: “I’m ready when Mourinho decides to rely on me.”

Amadou Diawara got a surprise start earlier this afternoon against Torino.

The 24-year-old midfielder was interviewed by the club’s official channels following the final whistle to Roma-Torino 1:0.

“It was a very difficult match, Torino are a confident team, very tough to beat. We prepared well and entered the pitch with the right mindset.”

Diawara was asked about his contribution after being on the bench for long stretches of this season:

“In football you must always be ready and do the right thing when the coach decides to rely upon you, as I did today.”

He concluded:

“Sometimes things can go wrong, but you always try to work hard in training to improve and be ready for the coach.”
