Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara was introduced today for the first time as a member of the Giallorossi. These are his words:
You’ve played in a three-man midfield but then Ancelotti moved to a two-man midfield. Which role is best for you?
I’m used to a three-man midfield, but I always adapt. The important thing is to do what the Mister asks and help the team.
How’re you feeling physically? You cut your holiday short to come here.
I cut my holiday short because I wanted to get to know the Mister and my teammates. I’m fine and I’ll try to feel better.
What’s the minimum objective of Roma?
Certainly to finish in a Champions League place.
Why did you choose Napoli over Roma when you left Bologna?
It was god’s will, but none of that matters. I’m here to do well.
Is Roma a point of arrival or a chance to do well and go elsewhere?
I arrived here very motivated and I know I am at a great club. I will give everything to help the team get where it deserves.
What specifically did Fonseca ask of you?
I know that the midfield is very important for the manager because he always to move the ball quickly. It was an emotional moment when he called me, it’s an honour to be managed by him.
How did the negotiations happen? Could you have arrived here even without the sale of Manolas?
I think so, the club really wanted me. I thank the club and the manager for their trust and I hope to repay it in the best possible way.
What do you think of the fans?
I was already impressed by them as an opponent. What I can say is that I will give my everything in training and during the matches.
