Jose Mourinho is hoping to have two additional defenders available for the first match after the international break.
Both Chris Smalling and Diego Llorente have been sidelined these past few weeks with muscle injuries.
Smalling’s injury dates back to the third Serie A matchday, whereas Llorente was forced to come off in the defeat with Genoa two weeks ago.
According to La Repubblica, the two centrebacks are set to intensify the workload in training this week and throughout the remainder of the international break.
The objective of Mourinho and his staff is to have both players back for the match against Monza.
