Roma defender Diego Llorente described the heated atmosphere at the Stadio Olimpico in the Giallorossi’s 2-1 win over Hellas Verona.

The Spaniard featured in Daniele De Rossi’s first formation as the team’s head coach, leading the defense with a 4-man backline.

“We did well in the first part of the match,” Llorente told Sky Sport. “We could have scored more goals. In the second we have to improve, but it was a difficult week. We have to assimilate all the concepts that the coach is trying to communicate to us.”

“The second half? We weren’t afraid, they put more pressure on us. We have to improve. If we had played like in the first half it would have been easier.”

“The fans? People expressed their opinion, but we weren’t happy either. In the first half they pushed us because we were trying our hardest and in the second they helped us in the difficult moments. We have an incredible support and we must ensure that they support us until the end of the season.”
