Roma’s latest signing, Diego Llorente, discussed his decision to join the capital club on loan from Leeds United in his first interview with Roma TV.
“For me it is a great honor to be here. The truth is that when the opportunity to come to Rome arose, I didn’t think twice. Roma are a very important club, it’s an important step in my career. I am very happy and I really want to help the team.”
“My agent spoke to me about Roma’s interest in the last few days of the transfer window. Initially I didn’t think about moving from England, but when the possibility of coming to Rome came up, I didn’t think twice. I just had to come here and make the most of this opportunity.”
“Mourinho? I have very good memories from our days at Real Madrid, especially related to learning from him. I had daily or in any case very frequent contact with the first team which was coached by Mourinho. I learned a lot from the players and coaching staff who always treated young players well. I have a very happy memory of that time.”
“It’s been a long time but it seems like it happened yesterday but it’s been several years. In football you never know who you might meet again during your career. Like I said, for me it’s an honor and I’m very happy to be able to work with him again.”
“I think Roma are where they need to be, competing on all fronts and with excellent chances to be protagonists in all competitions. I arrive at a good time to help the team in all competitions and ready whenever the coach needs me.”
“I’m very happy to be here, I’m ready to give my best, right from the first minute.”
