Roma defender Diego Llorente spoke to the club about the importance of last night’s victory over Sampdoria.
Following his starting debut in Serie A, Llorente found himself at the receiving end of Jose Mourinho’s praise for his technical abilities and composure.
In an interview with Roma TV, Llorente said, “After the last two games with negative results it was very important for us to win and I think the team did a good job in the first half. We could have even scored a goal but in the second half we played very well and I think it’s a deserved victory.”
“I train hard every day, just like my teammates who have fewer minutes available, for this type of occasion, I think it’s important to be prepared for when it’s our turn to help the team as much as possible.”
