Diego Llorente speaks about Mourinho, Roma’s Coppa Italia campaign and more

Roma defender Diego Llorente gave an interview to Sportmediaset ahead of the Giallorossi’s cup tie with Cremonese on Wednesday night.

The Spanish centreback discussed a variety of topics including Mourinho’s importance to the team: “He’s the perfect coach. He’s very important for me, he brought me here, he is the perfect coach for the team and for the fans, I would be happy if he stayed.”

“I look at him from the perspective of a player, but the fans look at Mou’s ability to connect with them as a person. He’s special that way.”

“Cremonese? Coppa Italia is a competition that excites the team, we have prepared very well for this match, there is maximum respect for Cremonese. If we do well it will be a simple match, otherwise it will be complicated.”

On Roma’s need for additional defenders in the January window, “We are few but we have to work with this group and not think if we are few or many, if a defender arrives this month, then fine – if he doesn’t arrive, we must be patient and work with what we have.”
