Spanish defender Diego Llorente – who joined Roma on loan in January from Leeds United – made his first appearance from the start for the Giallorossi in last night’s win over his former club Real Sociedad.
Unfortunately, Llorente was forced to forfeit the match at half-time despite an impressive performance as he suffered a thigh muscle injury.
Following the match, Llorente thanked the supporters for the incredible atmosphere on his debut at the Stadio Olimpico.
“I’m happy for the win and for my first minutes as a starter in a very special match,” he wrote on Twitter.
“It’s a shame I had to leave at half-time. Thanks to the fans for their support. The atmosphere was amazing! Daje Roma!”
Sono felice per la vittoria e per i miei primi minuti da titolare, in una partita molto speciale. È un peccato che sia dovuto uscire all'intervallo.
