The future of Diego Llorente remains unclear.
The Spanish centreback recently concluded his second consecutive loan spell in the Italian capital.
After rumors emerged that Roma were pursuing a permanent deal for him, the Giallorossi seem to have made no progress in their talks with Leeds United.
According to Il Messaggero, Llorente is expected back at Leeds and there is no guarantee that he will return to Roma.
As a result, the capital club are already working on potential replacements.
Mats Hummels is the most popular linked with Roma at this particular moment in time: despite his 35 years of age, Hummels would gladly take Llorente’s place in Daniele De Rossi’s squad.
The German defender was offered to Roma in the last hours and the Giallorossi have taken the time to make their considerations.
