The D’Amico era is about to begin.

After parting ways with Frederic Massara, Roma is about to meet its new sporting director.

According to Il Tempo, the matter with Atalanta, which still tied the sporting director to the Bergamo club, was resolved this morning.

Tony D’Amico’s appointment as the Giallorossi’s new sporting director is expected to be made official between today and tomorrow. Among the new director’s immediate responsibilities are undoubtedly the situations surrounding the players whose contracts are expiring: Celik, Pellegrini, and Dybala.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, one of the new director’s priorities will also be renewing Gianluca Mancini’s contract.

The sporting director is expected to officially sign on July 1st, but the Giallorossi are working to obtain a waiver that would allow him to be fully operational immediately.

Furthermore, the Friedkins have no intention of paying any compensation to Atalanta to release D’Amico.
