Roma have reached an agreement with Lille over the transfer of Turkish fullback Zeki Çelik after a few weeks’ worth of negotiations.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Lille have accepted Roma’s second bid for the 25-year-old: Çelik will join Roma for €7 million plus 15% of future resale value.
Roma are already working to schedule the player’s medical and contract signing date in the coming days.
The Giallorossi want to have Çelik at Mourinho’s disposal as soon as possible and are hoping to have him join the team on the first day of preseason training in Portugal.
Çelik was strongly wanted by Mourinho who called the player himself to help convince him of the club’s project.
