Doumbia closing in on Basel switch

Roma could be ready to waive goodbye to Seydou Doumbia.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported Roma and Swiss club Basel continue to talk for the player, who is coming off a very poor season at Newcastle.

Progress is being made for the Ivorian to complete a loan deal to Basel. The Swiss outfit would pay €2 million for the loan while paying all of Doumbia’s wages. The two sides are now negotiating the fee in regards to the option to buy.

Doumbia has been deemed a surplus to requirements and is ready to salute the capital after a poor tenure with Roma.
