Doumbia’s move to Sporting collapses

Il Tempo have reported that Seydou Doumbia’s move to Portuguese outfit Sporting has collapsed.

The operation was all completely as the Portuguese club were willing to bring the player in on loan with an option to buy for €6 million. The reason for the collapse? The player’s agent, Jean Beytrison, reportedly requested a large signing bonus go to the player, which Sporting refused.

However all may not be lost for the Ivorian, who is nowhere even close to being in the technical plans of Roma. Fenerbahce remain interested and have a large offer on the table. Roma have given permission to the Turkish club to negotiate with the striker as long as the same conditions that Sporting put in place surrounding the operation were there.
