Belgian attacker Dries Mertens is the latest player linked with the capital club ahead of what is setting up to be an incredibly heated summer window.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are among the clubs who have been approached by Dries Mertens’ entourage.
The player has been offered through intermediaries to several clubs in Italy after the 35-year-old got into a dispute with Napoli regarding his long-awaited contract renewal.
In fact, Napoli’s top-scorer is now rumored to be close to parting ways with Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club.
Mertens is currently looking around and does not intend to leave Italy. His asking price is of around €3.5 million.
So far, Roma are evaluating the proposal, taking into account the player’s advanced age and financial demands.
