Despite an overall average performance by Roma, Paulo Dybala’s effort to help push the team to a win over Empoli in last night 2-1 away victory did not go unnoticed. The Argentine international sounded very happy with his decision to join Roma in the summer.
“It had never happened to me before to be left standing around with a team,” he told DAZN after the game. “But I remained calm. I needed a team to keep myself fit and sharp and help me prepare for the World Cup.”
“I was never afraid of the uncertainty. I found the best place for me,” he added.
On Pellegrini’s missed penalty, Dybala remarked “We usually decide on the spot. Lorenzo hadn’t scored in a while so we wanted him to regain some confidence back. Next time we’ll also decide on the spot.”
